QuanSeaL® PTFE lips seal was introduced in the early 2000’s. The seals were designed to bridge the gap between conventional elastomer lip seals and mechanical face

seals. Hostile environments such as extreme temperatures, aggressive media, high surface speeds, high pressures, and lack of lubrication forced the designer to specify

the expensive and complicated mechanical face type seals. QuanSeaL® PTFE lips seal provides the designer a significant improvement in performance over elastomer lip

seals at a much lower cost than the mechanical face seal.

QuanSeaL® PTFE lip seals solve difficult applications which are not addressed by conventional elastomer seals. We exceed the performance of elastomer lip seals in the

following areas:

1.Lower friction
Generates less torque – Less heat – Requires less power
Typical Applications: Conveyor Rollers, electric motors, rolling stock, generators, compressors, vacuum pumps, high performance vehicles

2.AGGRESSIVE MEDIA RESISTANCE

Materials:
The sealing quality and the service life depend on the right choice of the design, the geometry of the seal lips and the lip material. Standard materials cover a great

application range. This special compounds have proven themselves exceptionally well in years of use for radial lip seals. Lip materials: Approximately 45 lip materials

are available for special applications.

LP1001 Premium grade virgin PTFE for static, slow-dynamic or light-duty application. Also for food-contact service requiring FDA approval. Color:white LP2030 Highly

wear resistant in fast-rotary service and on hardened shafts in well-lubricated rotary service,

LP8030 Good wear resistant in fast-rotary applications. Less abrasive to soft shaft and in poorly-lubricated service.

LP3020 Low coeffication of friction and excellent wear resistance combined with low surface pressure. Color: black

The QuanSeaL®NPRS is a rotary lip seal that features an ID lip that seals dynamically on a shaft and an elastomeric O-ring on its OD to seal statically in a bore.

Since the lip is not spring energized, the radial lip contact forces are lower, which allows the seal to function at much higher surface speeds (up to 5000 sfpm).
The seals are manufactured from a wide variety of PTFE composites and other machinable plastic materials. Standard O-ring choices are fluorocarbon, silicone, nitrile

and EPDM. This broad foundation of standard O-ring and PTFE materials can be tailored to suit nearly all applications. Standard and Non-standard profiles are precision

machined to fit inch-fractional and metric gland geometries. The design is extremely versatile because
the seal is machined from a molded PTFE sleeve. QuanSeaL®NPRS are used in demanding applications where the operating conditions exceed the capabilities of elastomeric

seals.

Larger diameters up to 2000 mm are possible.

The QuanSeaL®SPRS SEALS should be used when speeds are relatively low (<1000 sfpm) and pressures are high (up to 10,000 psi). QuanSeaL®NPRS seals and QuanSeaL®MPRS

seals profiles should be used when pressures are low and speeds high.
QuanSeaL®SPRS SEALS feature either a flanged design or an O-ring on the OD to keep the seal fixed in the bore as the shaft rotates. The O-ring can either be centered

along the OD or be located in the heel of the seal. Virtually any O-ring material can be supplied with a custom rotary FlexiSeal, but a fluorocarbon material is

standard.
